Connecting Knoll’s Past and Present

How do you convey a century of design history for the digital age? The Archive articulates the intricate and varied connections that tell the story of Knoll and Modernism at large. Through three distinct lenses—a timeline view, connections view and grid view—the interactive visualization provides an experience of the brand’s rich history and catalogue.

I studied the braided relationships between influential figures, iconic products, movement-defining events and architectural landmarks that shape Knoll’s history, refining and writing them into cohesive entries. I crafted its thematic narratives—modernity, collaboration, women in design, sustainability—to serve as narrative through-lines. Additionally, I advised on UX/UI and experiential brand design throughout the course of its development.
